My 2004 yzf R6 gets about 50 mpg, but that's if I'm easy on the throttle. I would assume that all 600's will get about the same.

First off, change the oil, coolant and brake fluid immediately. If you don't know how, get someone that does even if it's a dealer.

If the engine is in good order and the previous owner(s) haven't trashed it, you should probably get something in the 40's for mileage. I get about 43mpg on my ZZR600, but it's carbed. Fuel injection is better on gas, and my old SV650 was closer to 48mpg.

Basically, reset your tripmeter when you fill your tank and do the math yourself. At fill-up, divide the number on the tripmeter by how many galons you put into the tank before resetting. It will vary a bit, but you should be able to get a good idea within a few tanks.
