Question:
neither of the rear blinkers come on when I start my bike. The front ones are both on but not the back. The left rear works when I use the left indicator but the right does not. The bulbs work when put in other sockets so I think that is not the problem. If anyone has thoughts on where to start looking at the wiring then I'd like to hear them.
Answers:
Take out right rear bulb and check for corrosion in the socket. It that doesn't help, trace the ground wires and make sure they are making a good connection. Both hot and ground will plug into the wiring harness.
Trikes: what is the ideal engine layout?
Like he/she said. Usually the rear turn indicators do NOT stay on steady, only when blinking, unless they are red, or if you rewire it so they stay on, as i have done with my bike.Take the bulb out of the side that works, and put it in the one that does not, if it still does not work, just try and re-trace the wiring, it could be the ground, or it could be split somewhere, the possibilities are endless, so just try and follow the wiring from that signal as much as you can all the way to the battery, and then to the turn signal switch.
