Question:
i have rebuilt my engine and replaced the piston and rings and im left with the powervalve system a mystery. a freind of mine has told me that ive got the pullibar the wrong way round and on trying it the way he says doesnt look to be the rite way. as far as i know it wonte fit or work properly, my freind has been into bike for years aswell as maintainig and fixing them. there are 2 rods in the powervalve fixed together by a nut and pivot so the top bar moves and opens the powervalve chamber, but which way the top bar goes i have now idea.

It looks like a fairly simple system compared to Kawasaki's powervalve. I'd put Honda in the middle, as to complexity. By it's simple design, I don't know what is confusing you.Here's is a picture as to how everything is laied out -

If you're still having trouble, purchase a shop manual. As I've said many times before, anyone attempting to work on their own bike "should own a shop manual". You've invested so much time and money on your precious machine, why "guesstimate" service specs and repair procedures. And why trust any answers you get from strangers off of message boards. A couple of $$ for a manual is well worth the investment. Well, whatever...it's your bike.
