It will .I don't know exactly how many but it is a real pain in the butt to change.It is just plain abuse to your ride ...I try to take care of mine but to each his own.the burnout is not the issue with the belt drives on motorcycles, It' sthe rocks that get lodges between your belt & pulley.
If you ever decide to upgade your engine , Chain is the way to go.

The belts have been improved so much since they first came out that it may well outlast you. You probably don't know it but burnouts like that are bad for your engine too. You'll be working it like it's going 90 with no airflow. Gonna toast something!More Questions & Answers ...
