Japanese VTwins vs. the Motor Company?

Question:
I have read quite a bit about Japanese V Twins, namely the Suzuki Intruder LC 1500, now renamed the Suzuki Boulevard C 90 as compared to the full faired Harley Davidson Electra Glide. Other than price and drive train, what are the benefits of owning the Suzuki?

Answers:

My motorcycle is will not start?

I have an LC Intruder 1500 and I totally love the bike, for the price (10 grand) out the door, I found the Intruder to be the best bang for your buck out there in the metric cruiser market. The only thing I wish it had would be a bigger tank, you get about 130 miles on a full tank. The best thing I like about it is believe it or not the fuel tank is under the seat, the ficticious fuel tank is nothing but a cover for your air cleaner. With having the tank under the seat it helps out with the center of gravity. I have nothing against Harley's but I think that they are overpriced, but lets face it they have done a great job with marketing, and along with the marketing comes the image with owning a Harley. I constantly get tired of hearing American Made, but little do some people know that most of the metal used to make Harley's comes out of Korea. I'll stick to my metric cruiser, twice the technology at half the price.

Please Help!!!?

Price is probably the primary reason for most folks. The Harleys are certainly reliable nowadays so that's not a valid argument any more. There are lots more parts available so you have more options for customizing the Harley than you do with the Suzuki. A shaft drive is supposed to be pretty maintenance free but I put 37k on my HD's belt drive without issues. As long as you're not dirt riding (a poorly place rock will break the belt), the belt's just as good as the shaft. One of the great things about the HD's is the support network. The shops are on the main thoroughfares so are easy to find and they're all damned helpful. You get priority service if you're out on a trip and a problem occurs.

in what year did harley-davidson start rubber-mounting the engines on their production bikes?

True the HD's a bit more expensive but you still have to get fairings and bags for the C90 before it's a comparable product.

is a a laundrymat a convient place to meet single men?

That's kinda like comparing apples to oranges don't you think? The V-Rod or a Fat Boy would be a more even comparison to the C90.

Can I restart a honda 600 2006 without a charger?

Or take it the other way and compare something like the Yamaha Road Star Silverado, the Kawasaki Nomad, the VTX tourer or whatever to the 'Glide.

Any body got a motorcycle/scooter for $1000 or less that goes at least 65mph, & is Road safe. I'm new @ this.

In any case it really comes down to price points, dealer support, ergonomics, fit and overall finish in this day and time. As the previous poster mentioned, HD's are as reliable as anything on the market now. But IMHO the overall fit and finish and attention to detail isn't as good as the metrics.

Any Sport Bike (motorcycle) track open in DEC?

Well, they can all say what they want. The Harley's are still not as reliable as the Japanese bikes. I have been riding for over 34 years and have owned many bikes, Harley's included. 3 of my good friends own late model Harley's and 2 of the three have both had engine and trans issues. One needed the complete top end redone only after 10,500 miles on it.
The other thing is price. The Harley is over priced do to its popularity and for the fact of union involvement.
In mine and many peoples opinion, you still get alot more bike for the buck on the Japanese models and usually alot more hassle free miles.
why spend 35,000 bucks on a bike for its name when you can have a really nice dependable machine for under 14,000? I know, we are American we should buy American. well, I am sorry I am not getting it stuck up my a-- for principals of stupidity!

What can I do with my NSR SP 150cc?

several of my friends have switched to the suzuki and the new Yamahas and swear by them they wished they had switched from their harleys along time ago. Save some money and buy the jap bike. If you want to ride If posing is your game go for the Hardley

What is this cc they are referring in a motorcycle?

I own a Suzuki Volusia, the smaller brother to the c90. I ride with folks on Harleys and other metric cruisers all the time. To me the Harley, while a truly great bike, is simply not worth the money in comparison to the japanese bikes. The quality in workmanship and reliability of the Japanese bikes simply blows the American and British bikes right out of the water. No comparison. There is an undeniable presige attached to harley ownership, but for me, I can buy two C90s for the price of one Harley electroglide, so it is a no brainer for me, why would I buy an inferior machine for twice the money? The suzukis and the other major metric cruisers have all adopted the vintage Harley look which even makes the choice that much easier.

How to set timing on 95 Honda TRS 300EX four-Wheeler?

get the suzuki M109 its a hot bike

where can i buy custom motorcycle part for my cruiser.?

The japs build better bikes at half the price. It's just like buying levis versus designer jeans. The levis are just as good - if not better - but they don't have the cool name on them to flash around. Take your pick.
