These are restricted at the cyl. to exhaust pipe. If the seal looks like it has a 'flat washer' attached to it,,, it does.You can separate them with a good chisel & afew gentle taps.Good Luck

Can someone tell me what is meant by the cly. to the exhaust pipe, I am a bit confused, just a bit of info where about on the exhaust it is would be great i.e. at the engine, before the expnsion chamber, after it etc

It's the downpipe from the cylinder to the exhaust, there used to be a restrictor on the inlet from the carb to the cylinder too, hope this helps..To put it simply, take your exhaust pipe off the bike, and look down the end that bolts to the engine, not the end that the smoke comes out of! You should see the restrictor washer just inside the end of the pipe. They can be tricky bug*ers to get out.
