It varies from dealership to dealership. Some pay a decent salary and then add a small spiff per unit. Some pay basically no salary and high commissions. Around here I've seen anything from a $300 base per week plus $50 per unit, to $8.00 per hour plus 8% commission on the gross profit of the sale.

What to buy? I'm thinking YZF 750, VFR750, GSX-R 600 - any advice?

Just be sure to get everything in writing and don't forget to find out who keeps the manufacturer spiffs.
