they put a heavier flywheel on it increases the torque of the engine so you can lug then engine without it stalling. it's more mass turning so its harder to stop it. they just don't add a weight they have to add the weight evenly or you will destroy the engine.good luck

I'm with Doug too. It makes a more "tractable" motor for woods or even some other applications. Keeps the motor from spinning up too fast and breaking traction. You make no mention of what year YZ250. On the older A&B models you just take off the CDI rotor and ignition and install a points and flywheel ignition off a DT or RT engine. This is the hot set-up for small short tracks where the YZ just wants to spin the wheel off corners.
