I've wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle for a while, but have always been discouraged because of my weight. I weigh about 130lbs. Is this too light to ride a motorcycle and if so, what kind of weight would be recommended?

weight means nothing. height does. at ur weight, a ninja-250 would run faster than the demons from hell; and this same bike wouldnt do for a rider of my weight....about 190. and yes...u can handle the big harley's as long as u can put ur feet flat on the ground.i m 5ft 2 inch tall? What bike i should buy?suggest me some bike..?
I'm 105 and have a suzuki gs500. i know other chicks that weigh about the same and ride huge áss harleys. it's not about the weight. actually, the lighter, the easier it is to control. i started out on dirt bikes, which i would recommend.what is the highest cc motorbike?
no, you're not too light, just get a small bore bike first and get some experience then you might want a bigger bikemy husband weighs about 145lbs ..and is 6ft tall...and rides a Suziki 1500.....I weigh 115 lbs and 5'2 ...and I used to ride my fathers honda shadow 750 around....the only problem I had was my height..not my weight.....I could touch the ground on the 750 but I can't on the 1500........

I am a 5 ft 4 in female and I weigh 115 pounds. I ride and own a Harley. A Heritage Softail Classic. I weighs about 700 pounds. When you are riding it holds itself up. When you stop you just want to have it upright. You really never feel the weight unless you lean it to far we you are not moving. It is not a problem to pull it up off of the kickstand. The main weight is low so it is not to heavy.The lighter you are the better. Look at Rossi (probably the best MotoGP rider ever) He's a small guy.
Jeff....weigh doesn't have much to do with it......It's height that going to matter. My wife is 5' 2" and weighs around 120. It isn't her weigh that was a problem....it was her height. She rides a 1100 V-Star (that has been lowered). However on a recent trip to a couple of dealerships she did some bike sittin' and found that she could flat foot the Honda 1300 VTX and the new Kawasaki 900 (both great bikes). If you are going to get into this lifestyle, Learn to ride properly. Check on the availability of lessons through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Good luck and ride safe

they make moror cycles in all different sizes. find one that fits probably a smaller cc engine and after you learn to ride it move up to something bigger. You will want to move up to something bigger. Have riding ..... be carefulMore Questions & Answers ...
