Question:
I've seen other bikes with only one of them on. I know they both come on if the brights are on. I was just curious.
Answers:
The very small high intensity bulbs have only a single filament.
So only one acts as low beam and the other acts as high beam.
because there is no switch for switching of the other light
I would like to road register my 700 raptor in australia can it be done?
The reflectors are set different, one side is set to be optimal at low beam, one side is set for high beam. that is why only one is on for low beam. You see this setup on sportbikes and touring bikes mostly.
It's a dual element light. One for low beam and one for high. Just like in an automobile, you don't want you brights on all the time. You may blind another driver or in the fog a high beam shows up too much vapor. That is why you have a switch to turn your high beams on and off.
