Can you recommend a jacket, other than leather, for cold weather motor bike riding?

I use a FieldSheer riding suit, no air sucks in either at the legs or arms as it has velcro straps. Amor plates and a lot of pockets. It is 42 now and going down to 26 when I get off work at 0600 hrs. Plus I have a 45 mile ride.
Fieldsheer and others make just the jacket part also but if you are riding in the cold go for the full suit.

Additional suggestions: I had electric heated grips installed on my Vulcan 1500 and with Atric gloves (overgloves that strap on the handle bars) I get a nice warm box for my hands. Down side is it is harder to use the turnsignals.
I also went to the Harley shop and got lowers that clip on the crash bars. Blocks the wind from my feet so they do not get so cold. Feet still get cold under 30 degrees and the lowers create a drag that really lowers the gas milage. However they snap on and off easy.
Pick up a head sock with neck warmer also, keeps the chin warm and cuts wind from entering into you jacket on top or suit.

leather breaks the wind the best, and if u go down, it'll hold up alot better than the other choices the others have 'suggested' with maybe 1 exception, and that's on armor only. i wouldnt use it for cold weather. last year i took a 30 mile ride in 25 degree weather with no windshield, and the only thing that got cold was my hands.
unless u spring the coin for heated gear, the best way to stay warm is to first dress in layers. long underwear is important also. chaps will definately help keep the legs warm.

u can also go to the army/navy store, and pick up a few small chem heat packs that the hunters would use. they'll last about 4 hrs or so. stick em in strategic areas, and u'll have a toasty ride no matter what speed. be sure to cover any exposed skin, or it will frostbite in a hurry on a bike.

Check out the Kilimanjiro line from First Gear- they make good syntheitc/ballistic nylon gear, and that line is all designed for cold weather riding. Plus it's water and windproof, I believe.

It really depends on how cold you're talking about. I can wear a sweatshirt under my gear and stay warm enough for rides to work in the morning when it's around 45 degrees. To some people, that's pretty cold :)

You might consider getting a Gerbing's jacket liner or Witter vest. Both are heated and plug into your bike. You can get gloves to go with them and even pants and socks if you're really cold.

If you're going to be riding in cold weather and have a full faced helmet, you might consider a Fog City helmet liner to prevent fogging or even a foggy pro (I think it's called) which is a face mask that covers your nose.

I have a nylon jacket that was sold by the Triumph dealership a few yrs back. Its the best riding jacket I've ever owned. Zip out lining (including sleeves), vents on sleeve, chest and back, and slip in armor for shoulders and elbows.
