In a dirbike motocross race if I have a 04 CRF230f trail bike four stroke could I still race others.?

There is less mark up on motorcycles than on cars - the invoice game does not work as well. It is very tough to make a living being a motorcycle dealer! Regions tend to only have 1 or mayeb two dealers by design, so some don't feel like they have to deal as much. Also, there are so many gawkers on bikes that you have to let the dealer know you are really serious. Flash the cash if you want to deal.

Motorcycle tires?

The last year's model deal works pretty well, or going for a demo bike or lightly used one. Lots of folks tend to buy bikes, and THEN decide they want a different model. Low mileage used bikes are not difficult to find.

Bike too loud!?

If you want a real deal, look for the extreme mark-down dealers in your region. They focus on volume and lower markup. Every brand has them. In the Southern US, for instance, there is a known Yamaha dealer - D&H Cycles in Cullman, AL - that gives the the best deals on FJRs, and the best deals on Triumph deals come from Southern Powersports in Chattanooga, TN. Sometimes, these folks will deliver the bike to you. You might be able to used price quotes from guys like this to leverage your dealer to work with you... but sometimes this just tees them off!

Can you ride a 49cc pocket bike in Yakima County.?

Just like a car. find out what "Factory Invoice" is not "Dealer Invoice". This is the invoice the dealer pays the factory with the their header on it. not the invoice the dealer shows you with the dealers header. If that makes any sinse. There are variations of the game. Offer cash. Buy last years model. Take advantage of factory rebates. Use credit rewards. They often pay flooring costs just like auto dealers. The longer that bike sits... the more money it costs them. Some times they are willing to lose money because they know if they don't get rid of it to make room for new models they will lose more. Tell them you know all this. Stand your ground once you've done your price research and pay what you want too. I bought an '01 Chevrolet S10 with an $18,000 sticker for $10,000 by following some of the above ideas.

Is my motorbike license still valid?

i agree with toyracer, do some research, find out what other dealers are selling the same thing for, and defiantly stand your ground. if you are willing to travel a bit you may find the same thing cheaper near by..

Where can I advertise for free online aside from craig'slist?

You can negotiate some, but bikes are usually about half the price of a car or less. So your negotiating room is not all that large. Don't lose too much sleep if you don't get the greatest deal. At least you'll have a bike!

If you have to have it right now, you'll pay for that gratification.
If you can delay your joy, you will save money, money that you can use on cool aftermarket items.

Cruiser riders, what kind of helmet do you wear?

I do pretty good on getting a good interest rate, but I don't do well on getting a lower price. I pull into the dealership on my current bike, look around, sit on a few and make cooing noises when I find a nice one. Last time in, to get what I'm sitting on in my avatar pic, I used my old bike as trade in with no down payment, and when they told me the cost per month I got up an started to walk out. I was asked what would make me reconsider the deal, and I said a lower payment and lower interest. I got both. When you can ride out on something you already own, they are more willing to do a deal with you.

Suggestions for a good street/sport bike for beginners?

Motorcycle dealerships don't do well with negotiating prices especially this time of the year. If you can wait, your best deals will come at the end of the riding season when riding slows down and sales drop. This is between Oct-Dec. and is also the time the dealers mark down older bikes to make room for the newer models. It is also during this time the bikers trade in their bikes for newer and you get better deals on used models.Used bikes are often bought for less than blue book value and marked up above the blue book value to give the dealer negotiating power. These bikes are the ones you can get the dealer to work on your terms. The other thing to do is buy from a car dealership that also sells motorcycles, they mainly sell cars so they are more flexible in dealing with their prices. Beside this, they want to break into the bike sales business and want your referral. They also have their bikes on consignment so it costs them more to keep them on their floor. They also have more financing options to deal with, so the easier chance of getting approved.

Can a software engineer own a suzuki gsx R from his own salary ?

Everything on the market that has a price tag is negotiable. Do your homework. Know what it is worth (invoice) and know what you like on it. M/C's have little options but a ton of add-ons. Offer a price that YOU can afford. If you have the slightest doubt that something is wrong, grab a free cup of coffee and walk out.

Harley vs. Japanese big four. Which is better? Consider reliability and price only.?

there are some key points you need to look at when you purchase a motorcycle.
-has the motorcycle been raced on a track?
(look for safety wiring on the bolts)
(look for excessive wear on tires and brakes.)
-has the motorcycle been abused?
(look to see if they have done burn outs on the bike)
-has the motorcycle been dropped or crashed?
(you can tell if a motorcycle has been in a crash by looking at the casings on the side.)

Power band lost on bike?

either way, you need to look for a reliable bike by noticing the different wear and tear and by pointing out those inperfections, you can negotiate the price.
