120mpg was actually achieved for a UK/ US designed military bike the M1030M1 based on a stock Kawasaki (see cross reference)

Also, since Diesel fuel has >20% more energy content over gasoline, that translates in effect to only 72 mpg, or 3.2 liter/ 100km (if it had been a gasoline engine powering the Royal Enfield)

The VW Lupo a '3.5 seater' car did 3ltr/ 100km = 78mpg (Diesel, and US gallons). Again, that was a car, not 15HP motorbike.

5. I once did a mileage calculation for the "gasoline equivalence" of the General Motors "EV1 (electric vehicle)". That thing had every trick in the book: magnesium seats for weight, stream-line underbody, special tires, you name it. it had it. Anyway, if it had been powered by a gasoline engine the EV1 would have done below 3ltr/ 100km or well above 80 mpg also. For those who have not seen it, that was a FULL size sports car.

Saw one in Paonia, Colorado in 2005. Owner was touring across the US from East to West. It drew quite a crowd. He quoted mileage well over 100 mpg! Downside is that it had very low power and rider had to stay off major roads where speed of traffic was far in excess of his capability.
