Can the Yamaha Virago 535 handle prolonged 45 degree heat of the Ausie outback?

Question:
Hi, my name's Dafydd, I'm from Wales and will be re-locating to Australia in 6 months time. I'm planing on shipping my trusty Yamaha Virago 535. Since it's an air cooled, I thought it might overheat in the hotter parts of your country.
Would a temperature gauge be usefull?
Thanks in advance, any answers will be greatfully received.
Can't wait to tour your great country. Daf ;-)
