Shop around on ebayMotors for ideas of what might appeal to you. Then go out to a dealer near you that sells the make and model that interests you most. Ask the sales-rep lots of questions and be sure to sit on the bike. Think of your bike as a potential marriage partner... size her up well before you prepose.
