My motorcycle won't start, it just makes a kind of clicking noise. What's wrong with it?

Question:
Yesterday morning I started my motorcycle fine. Then I tried to move and it shut off. I did the same thing a couple more times. After that, it simply wouldn't start. When I push the ignition switch, it doesn't sound like it might start, it just makes a choked-up kind of clicking noise. It's been like this about 26 hours now. Anyone know what's wrong?

sounds like there is not enough power to turn the starter over. if you started it and did not let it run very long, it would have used more battery power than it produced. check the lights and horn, if they are weak that is a good sign it is the battery. DO NOT try to boost it with a car battery. this can damage the electrical system. either push start it or get a battery charger. if you push start it, ride it for a few minutes. this will help build the battery if take a charge. good luck

Almost guarantee it's your battery. If an hour or two on the charger doesn't do the trick, then check your starter.

Import Motorcycle to India from US?

If the battery's more than 4 years old, get a new one and make sure you clean the battery terminals well when you install it. Then if it continues to just click when to try to start it, the starter solenoid switch might need replacing. Your ignition switch tells the solenoid switch to connect your battery to the starter motor. If the solenoid switch contacts get burned up enough, they fail to connect properly and you just hear the "click".

PS, A fully charged 12 volt battery should read 12.6 volts or more with no load on it. While your cranking the starter it should read at least 9.5 volts or more.

Replace the battery after charging it. A charger is a great investment. Lucky you, I'm in Canada no biking here.

in which country bicycle was made first time?

First check the battery. If it wasn't dead at first, it might be now. Clean the terminals even if they look OK on the outside. It is ok to jump the motorcycle, just follow the jump instrustions as if it was a car [connect the cables in the proper order and to the right places]. You probably don't need the jump car/truck to be running as your motorcycle battery is much smaller that a usual car's. Check the fuel valve [like said above]. Then if the above doesn't seem to work, you probably need the starter checked professionally.
Good Luck!!
