Why wont my ducati start?

Question:
i have a 2005 ducati ss800. I cant get it to start. It cranks for a while and tries but wont start. i didnt properly store it for winterization, which i now know. The battery was low so i charged it up and I am sure it is ok now. I didnt have hardly any fuel in the tank while it sat for about 3 months ( maybe half gallon ) I put new gas in and even put in fuel injector cleaner. I tried to use some engine starting fluid that I sprayed into the intake but nothing. I do not know a whole lot about bikes and maybe should but I want to try and figure this out here instead of having to put it on a truck and driving 2 hours away to a dealership. It was running great before it sat for so long. Is there any thing you can think of to help me?

The fuel injector system is plugged up on the throttle body.

Pull the spak plugs and see if you have spark.Check the kill switch .Is the gas petcock turned to reserve or on?If you have spark then a fuel restriction exists.Could be a plugged fuel filter,or a bad connection at the injector or a shorted injector.

completely flush and clean all the fuel lines.
do you get a spark from the spark plugs?
is there any sign of life from the ignition at all when the engine cranks, or do you just hear the mechanicals turning over?
you may require a new battery, but that might not be necessary depending on the age of the battery. check your terminals as well, and make sure they are lubricated with wd40, etc.

it's all about eliminating what it isn't. if it ran perfectly well before, then you won't have a broken part, and it is very likely a fuel, or electrical issue. i presume the bike has been garaged.

look at your spark plugs. their color will tell you a lot about the condition of your engine. check your oil too, and make sure anything that didn't get attended to at the last scheduled maintenance service is dealt with.
