I am taking the class this coming weekend in Prescott. They have classes all over Arizona; the classes are on Saturday and Sunday. They are little expensive (2750.00) so some might have to save for a little while to get the funds!

Take a class. Most dealers will have a class or will be able to give you a recommendation. I think the best way to learn motorcycle basics is on a bicycle the low speed handeling on a motorcycle is much like a bicycle. This said now i would find a motorcycle you are comfortable on and work on your low speed handeling in parking lots or quiet streets. You need to master the use of the clutch before you can advance your skills. Wear a helmet and protectice gear, gloves and boots. I wear full armor when i ride. Hope that helped, be careful but you already know that.Don´t be afraid to die ! I´ve been riding for over 50 years ,and I´ll tell you,keep in mind that the other vehicles on the street don´t care how much experience you have. Keep your eyes open and know where you´re riding. Obey the traffic laws and ALWAYS expect to dodge those who don´t know or care about you .Keep your bike in top condition and don´t ride in the rain. Park it until it stops raining . Don´t race. Ride with patience and understanding for others. Don´t be pressured into riding like others think you should.Know your own capabilities !

You should check out ABATE; it is a motorcycle club that promotes safety. I believe every state has one. I took my safety course there and never rode in my life (except a dirt bike when I was 16). I learned alot and it was really fun too!More Questions & Answers ...
