In Massachusetts you do, unless your on your own property or on someone elses property with permission. Which means that you need it to ride in state forrests etc. I should point out that I am talking about a Recreational Vehicle Registration which is NOT legal for road use, and if you register the town you live in will hit you for a yearly excise tax as well.Hows the Honda nighthawk 250 on the hwy?
Truthfully, there are fewer and fewer places to ride, and as you probably know its the few who spoil it for the many.
They aren't really required. But it's a very good idea. If you're stopped by police riding on property closed to the public, all they can do is give you a summons/fine/ticket and tell you to push your bike out of there. If it's unregistered, they can impound your bike. Better safe than sorry.
