Making a dirtibke street legal in CA?

Question:
I know that I can't take my dirtbike into DMV here in California and get it street legal. However can I take it to DMV in Arizona(I still have my ID there), get it street legal there and then bring it here and transfer it?
Thanks

I have a 1985 Honda shadow with a stuck or bent intake valve is it worth fixing or should i sell it??

Between the charging system (That on a dirt bike usually do not produce enough power to run a lighting system) and whatever emissions stuff might be required, you'd probably do better to get a dual purpose and trick it out. The paperwork would already be in place and you would'nt have to 'Mickey Mouse' anything.
I had (This was back in the 80's) a Yamaha IT that I made street legal, the lights were weak and I got pulled over often.
I later took a Honda XL 500 and loaded it with as many XR parts as I could and that was a really cool bike. ***I would guess it may depend on What Year Bike? you probably know newer bikes require some emissions equip. If it's old enough not to be effected by emissions requirements ,I don't see why it could'nt be registered in Az. and transfered to Ca.
