In the pulsar digital sometimes the backlight of the speedometer goes off. does it happen in other pulsars ?

I bought the digital pulsar recently. The orange backlight of the digital speedo console goes off sometimes , when i do not change gears properly. Can anyone please tell me if it happens in other pulsars (digital) also and why?

Next time the lights go out; rap on the top of the dash a couple times. If the lights come back on the it is a bad solder joint. If not then the power supply to the back lighting may be going bad. This module is available from the dealer and is fairly easy to replace.I recommend a qualified mechanic to remove the dash though.
