Question:
I am looking for a sportbike of any kind to be my first motorcycle. I have about one thousand dollars to spend. However, even though I have been looking for a long time, I just cannot find a good motorcycle that is not broken for that price. Where can I look to find a nice sportbike for less than one thousand dollars?

Save your money and wait until next year because a grand won't get you much other then a 20 year-old bike with problems. You can on the other hand use the $1000 for a down payment if you want to go that route. What is ur opinion on a Honda Gold Wing 2007 model ?

Marvel Mystery Oil in Motorcycles?
There ARE deals to be had for under $1000 (6 of the last 7 bikes I've owned have been at, or under that price point ~ took one of them to over 100k miles too). BUT, the one cavet is that you're going to end up spending money on things like tires, brakes, and any service you can't do yourself (mounting those tires, doing valve adjustments, cleaning/tuning the carbs, etc). How i set timeing on kawaski vulcan 750 1992?
As a new rider, wouldn't you Rather have a reliable motorcycle than one that's not reliable AND may need near-constant service? In many ways, a more expensive bike can be cheaper to you.
Yamaha Virago 700 electric problem?
But, looking for a cheap sportbike, start with something that's less-expensive to begin with, like the Kawasaki EX250. It's got a lowly $2999 MSRP and can be had, in Very good condition, for $1500~2500 (I've already seen an '07 with under 1000 miles sell for $2500). Then not only do you meet the financal aspect, but you get an excelent bike to learn on. Heck, if you like the bike, you can stick with it as it's more than capable to go over 100k miles, run the Iron Butt (11,000 miles in 11 days), break 100mph, roadrace and just generally do anything you desire.
Which bike shud i buy..temme a gud bike..?
As for Where to look, Craigslist, eBay, cycletrader (both online and the paper version ~ mine are always different), local club classifieds, or bike/model specific forum classifieds as well as Independent motorcycle repair shops (most have bulletin boards for ads) and just start asking around to any/everyone you see who've involved with motorcycling. I've found bikes in all of those ways.
