What is the car equivalent of the Yamaha R1? basically if the R1 were a car, what car would it be?
I generally dont use the rear brake. I originally learned how to ride on dirt and used the rear brake alot. I dont want to get into a panic situation on the street and stomp on the rear brake so I tend to not use it.At the track some use the rear brake for trail braking (not me because I'm not that good yet). by using the rear brake you take some stress off of the front tire (if you were using the front brakes) while leaned over. Trail braking in a turn changes makes the front steeper, enabling you to turn sharper as well as scrub off speed.
What s&s manifold can i use on my 96 inch motor for a g S&S carb?
I use it all the time. That's what it's there for.I don't use it in corners or in an emergency stop but for hauling the bike down from a high-speed run on a straight, pre-corner speed adjustments or for regular braking I use it all the time.
Why not use up the pads since I'm carrying them around with me anyway?
What is the full e-mail of Valentino Rossi?
using both brakes can slow you or stop you faster than just using one brake you should become familiar with your own bikes braking characteristics so you can Maintain control under heavy braking situations. Although I do most of my braking with the front brake locking up the rear tire is more forgiving than locking up the front. My 1981 IT yamaha I can start it if I put gas in the spark plug and I have cleaned the carb?
Absolutly.Wiring diagram for a 1975 Suzuki ts250...?
The FASTEST a sportbike can stop Requires the use of both front and rear in a linear fashion. Meaning when you First start the braking process, you use 90% rear and 10% front, and quickly change those percentages to 90% front and 10% rear. Most people Already do this with the front brake (if they don't, they'd be locking the front wheel and crashing), adding the rear will reduce the total braking distance a noticeable amount.

I do this because I want my body and mind trained for Emergency situations where ever last milimeter makes a difference.
Does a motorcycle with a 250cc engine have enough power to get around town?
The rear is also absolutly invaluable for slow-speed manuvers. If you've never done a U-turn with the rear brake (drag it to modulate speed, leave the clutch alone and use whatever throttle opening feels correct), then you'd be Drastically surprised at just how stable, and Tightly, you can make slow speed turns.
Can i run mobile 1 synthetic oil in a klr 650?
So, Absolutly I use the rear brake. And lots. A motorcycle being able to do a stoppie has no bearing on the rear brake being useful.
Why does my 2007 Harley limit theRPM in 6th gear?
the rear brake should be applied first ,just barely ahead of the front brake,to work properly. Can you get a motorcycle off a dealer without a motorcycle license?
Hell yes I do. Its 30% of your stopping power... It is a great way to tighten a cornering line if youre going in a little hot... It also helps settle the suspension as you are entering a turn. I hit my rear brake about a second before I get on the fronts to balance the bike's suspension while entering a turn at high speed...I mainly use the front brakes.
I apply the front first then I apply the rear.
Just old habit.
Should I be worried? Scared? How dangerous are they?
Rarely use it only when I'm coming up to a roundabout to quick.Or if it's raining 50/50.
I have a 1999 Yamaha blaster is larger the carb better? If not what size should i get for racing?
70% of the power is in the front, 30% in the back. u need to use both sets if u want to be able to stop quick. if u lock the back, u can still ride it out. u cannot get away with locking up the front..ever. that will catapult u over the bars in a hurry. How do i convince my parents to buy a motorcycle?
My old fzr600 has a custom made swingarm and I have never gotten the back brakes to work with a new line so Ive adapted to not using back at all.Now i have an F4 and Im trying to use the back now but its hard to get used to.btw...the fzr is for sale if anyone wants to ride without a back brake..lol bikepics.com/members/teamneonWhat is the cheapest website to buy alpinestars? (besides ebay)?
I use both although the beemer isn't exackly a sport bike. It's the best way to stop. You also want to know what the rear feels like so when it's raining and you want to lean on the rear a bit more, you have a good feel for it. I also keep it applied when I'm stopped so a cager might MIGHT notice me if he come up behind me at a light (stop light will be on). If you are in the habit of using the rear at a stop, it helps out alot when starting out going uphill, your right hand will be free to just run the throttle, no screwing around with the front brake lever and throttle, will seem very seamless and natural if you are in this habit.More Questions & Answers ...
