The dyna (gildes) are Harley's cheapest large displacement motorcycle. These have standard suspension (two shocks in view in back and the twin front shocks in the forks). These come in different "flavors" or how much junk is stuck on them, the performance does not vary, just the look.
The softail(s) have the same front suspension and the dyna (and all Harleys) with the exception of the "springer" front end that uses exposed coil springs and a pivoting rod. The softail got its name because the rear shocks are hidden (modled after the hardtail, which had no rear shocks). These are the fanciest line that Harley assembles and what most would be biker’s lust after. Once again the performance does not differ much from bike to bike or from the dyna glides.

A crusing bike is just a bare bike (no fairing, windscreen or bags) that a person "cruses" along the boulavard with, hence the name. These could be either the dyna or the softail.
A touring bike, of which Harley make three (I think) is basically a dyna glide with a full fairing, usually mounted to the forks, fat seats and hard bags. There are a few in between bikes like the road king that has a removable windscreen and bags so you can "cruise" on it.
I have been riding since I was 8 and am 54 now. Harley-Davidson makes an ok bike but with Harley it is more of a sense of joining a group than riding. Type in “motorcycle manufacturers” on the search bar and it will bring up a plethora of sites to visit.

Dyna and Softail are both lines within the Harley family. Cruising/Cruiser usually referes to bikes that look similar (Most of the Harleys, and all the Japanese have cruisers too... these tend to have no plastic fairings, lots of chrome, etc). Touring as bikes like the Goldwing that have lots of wind protection and often have factory luggage.there's another line of bikes. sport-touring. they have the sportbike look, but has hard saddle bags, different suspension, and seating is more like a cruiser.
