I bought 3 Sunl ATV's for my kids for Christmas. 2 are fine but 1 starts up, runs for a few seconds, then dies. It also dies immediately if I touch the throttle. PLEASE help fast because I really wanted the kids to be able to ride them Christmas day.

there is a fuel restriction some ware.make sure plenty of fuel is coming out of the tankmake sure the fuel hose is not pluged or pinched shut

I would check the kill switch and the wireing to it. they have to be tight and not touching the metal frame.

Check the fuel flow on the fuel line. Pull the fuel hose off the carburetor and look to see if gas comes out. Look inside the gas tank, you should see nothing but gas. Nothing floating around. Make sure the fuel cut off valve is open. It should be inline on the fuel line.Next, use a wrench to remove the float bowl on the carburetor. There should be one nut to unscrew at the bottom of the carburetor. It sounds like the float is stuck or the float pin is stuck. Be careful not to get dirt inside the float bowl. Make sure the float pin moves freely.

I am assuming this unit is new. The air filter should be good, Check it anyway. When you have the airfilter off, make sure the choke works. An air valve should open and close as you move the choke switch. To start it should be closed. To run the airway should be open.

Is the carburetor tight to the engine, no air leaks? Check it. The nuts holding the carburetor should be snug, do not over tighten them.

Take the spark plug out, it should be shinny clean. Is the plug wet or dry? If it is dry, fuel is not getting to the engine. If it is wet, spark plug is not firing. Check to see if you have spark. Put the plug wire back on the spark plug and short out the threaded end to the engine. Keep the treaded end away from the spark plug hole. When you pull the rope or start it, you should see a pulsing blue spark.

What ever you do, avoid taking anything apart you don't absolutely need to take apart. If there is something wrong with the spark or carburetor, take it to a mechanic.

If it's been sitting for quite a while with fuel in it, the idle jet in carb is probably plugged. Use a single bristle from a large wire brush and remove idle jet and poke it clear.
Or, it could be a plugged fuel filter (or petcock screen).
