Best fuel preservative?

Question:
Whats the best fuel preservative for long term and between trips storage, that will not gum up the fuel system and carb? Is it better to leave fuel in the carb during storage or turn the fuel off and let the carb run itself dry?

THere is a product called STABIL that you can get at any parts store. I know of using it for like mowers during the winter possibly you can use it on you bike as well. IT prevents the fuel from breaking down.
