Question:
Hi I dont know much about motorcycles but I bought one because I thought it would make me slightly more indepedant at the age of 16. The bike will not start, and I think this might be because the battery is flat. What would be a good idea to try get it to work, and how much would it cost Thanks a lot Troy.

I suppose you've tried to push start it? If not, you should put it in neutral, push it as fast as you can run, jump on the bike, pull in the clutch, press down once on the shift lever and release the clutch. Make sure the ignition switch is in the ON or RUN position. You may want to have the choke ON as well. Remember to pull the clutch in once it fires and to rev the engine to get it to run smoothly. Then release the choke once the engine has warmed up.Nice looking bike. You'll have a blast on it as long as you remember to look one mile in every direction when you're on the road. You MUST anticipate every drivers next move and be very careful. Cars just don't pay any attention to motorcycles.

I do not have any experience with the motorcycle you have referred to. I am suprised that it does not have a kick starter at such a small displacement. You suggest it is an electric start. It is not uncommon for a motorcycle battery to draw down over time. You should invest in a 6/12 volt trickle charger($12.99 at Wal-Mart). Determine the voltage of the battery FROM the battery and apply the charger accordingly. This should get you going unless the battery is bad. Install the new battery and away you go.More Questions & Answers ...
