Question:
what is considered high milage on a motorcycle? also im a big guy 6'4 300 lbs, what's a good bike to consider for a big guy?
Answers:
Cruiser riders, what kind of helmet do you wear?
I presume this is your first bike. If so, you will probably want something that both fits you and is easy to ride so you will be able to learn to be a better rider. While a 250 may be too small for you, you also don't need 100 hp on that bike to keep up with highway traffic. What happens if exhaust is clogged?
For someone of your size, I'm going to say the best first bike would be a 650 cc dual sport. Check out the Kawasaki KLR650 and the BMW F650 series. Honda also has something in this category; I can't remember what it is. These bikes are large enough to accomodate the tallest riders; I'm 6'2" and feel small sitting on a KLR650. If you've got some dirt bike experience, you also might want to check out the Suzuki DL650 V-Strom.
High mileage depents on how it's been ridden. I had a bike with around 30,000 miles that was about falling apart, but it was also old enough to buy beer.
AND IS THAT A BIG GUY ON YOUR AVATAR?
Harley Davidson.
if ur a guy how come ur avater is a girl...?
over 250lbs get a 500cc or up is my rule.
Big guy = big bike.
Any of the metric bikes are god for 100,000 miles or more, many have over 200,000 with no major problems so mileage is hardly even a consideration. What style do you want? For a cruiser, try a Valkyrie or a Venture. For luxury go with a Gold Wing or a BMW K1200LT.
Avoid the Harley's if you want reliability & comfort. Anything over 30,000 miles is about shot.
Of course if you just wanna look cool you can't beat'em!
