I don't think that any of your choices would make an ideal first bike if you do not know what type of bike you want to ride. How much would a 1980 Royal Enfield cost ?
If you have settled on HD as the purveyor of your new ride than your choices are certainly limited to a small sporty or a blast. They are very different types of bike though. Both Sporties are cruisers, meaning that the foot pegs are set slightly forward and the handle bar is very high. The Blast can be best characterized as a "standard", meaning you are put in a "sit up and beg" position while seated. The pegs are under your butt and your hands will be in a lower position. These positions have a large effect on how you control the vehicle.
What is the top speed of a stock 06 Yamaha YZ 250 F?
In my personal opinion you would be best served by learning on what is called a Japaneese standard. This will let you learn in a very neutral riding position. Once you are comfortable on a bike, you can then decide if you want to go cruiser or sportbike. BTW I always thought I was a crusier guy until I was old enough to ride and found out that I liked to go fast.
06 ninja 500 better mpg or acceleration?
A used Japanese standard (like a GS 500/750 or CB 550 / 650) will set you back less than a grand, let you learn on a competent machine and give you the opportunity to find out what your riding style is.
go with a cruiser. Sport bikes wont be fun on the commute or cruising
What is the small metal wedge inside the throttle control of a harley rode king.?
Part of it depends on your idea of recreational riding. Do you want to cruise and go on longer rides or go into some canyons and scrape your pegs? The Blast is a much smaller bike ( single cylinder 500) .The Sportster is a 883 V-twin.
The Beull will cost less initially, but the Sporty will hold it's value better.
I personally would go with the Sportster, one last thought, Have you considered a 2-3 year old 1200, It will take you much longer to out grow a 1200.
How many kilometres would 3 litres of petrol in a dirt bike get you?
If you have no riding experience then don't get either one...yet. Pick up a cheap dinged up jap bike. Take a rider course and put a few thousand miles on the bike. Then get whatever new bike you want. If you get the new bike first it will just end up with a lot of dings and scratches. You are gonna go down a few times until you get some experience.New bajaj Pulsar 200CC DTS-i how many rupees will come in all extra fittings?
Dudle all those bikes suck. They are "Dogs" meaning that they are slow. go with the imports better bang for the buck and much easier to work on (assuming you have metric tools) and much more durable.Sportster or sport bike... you have to ask yourself which is more comfortable for what you want to do. Do you like leaning forward all the time or would you rather sit back and relax. While sport bikes are a lot of fun, they are just that, "sport" bikes built for racing not commuting. I've owned both and for commuting, I would pick the Sportster. I'm guessing by your weight that you are not that tall. The 883L is perfect for shorter legs as you can sit in the saddle and put both feet down. You don't have to do the tippy-toe thing as you might have to with the 883R.
Wisconsin Motorcycle License Question?
I happen to be a fan of the Buell Blast. They are lightweight, easy to ride and really fast.Is there a law about motorcycle streamers?
if u want a bike that will do the long hauls, carve the canyons at will, and look dam good.get the sportster. from 1st hand experience on the twisty roads of southeast ohio, the sportster is a fun bike to jam on in the twisties. they will make a decent tourer if set up right. all u need is a detachable windsheild, a sundowner seat, and a rally pack to put on the sissy bar; that is how i have my sportster currently set up, and this will annoy the nay-sayer's..i can easily pull a 400+ mile ride in 1 sitting. that's no stopping except for gas, food, and bathroom. What is a good motorcycle to get, without it being too big?
i would suggest getting the 1200. the added power and weight out of the box will come in handy on ur first long distance ride. they're not too much more than an 883. but do ur butt a favor and deepsix the stock seat. get a sundowner and u'll be a happy camper.
