At 15 1/2 you can get a permit by passing a written test at DMV and providing proof of insurance. You may not ride double or after dark. At 16 when you get your ndrivers licence, you can also get your motorcycle licence. This test is riding. If your a decent rider it is easy. You will have to ride around a circle in both directions, maybe do a figure 8 or go around some cones., stop on a line easy stuff like that. When you hit the streets " always remember " cars and trucks never see you and are out to kill you. If you ride with this in mind you stand a grater chance of survival.Why do they call a moped a moped?

Several recommendations1. Take the MSF class! You should check their website to see what the rewuirements are in your state. (they vary a great deal) If you have to wait to take it, then wait. It is very important that you build the skills taught in the class.
