I had the bolt on the cam gear loosen up, it ruined my cam as well as let a valve hit a piston. Just wondering if this is a common problem.

I had a Virago in 1992, I think it was a 1986. It was a 700cc. The motor was junk, First time I changed the oil there was about half a teaspoon of metal flake stuck to the magnet on the drain plug. Got rid of that lemon quickly, I have talked to other Virago owners also, and they have had the same problem. A couple of them even told me "that is completely normal"...
