Answers:
Here in PA they offer free motorcycle safety course and provide motorcycles for the course, They are 250's and most of them are Honda Shadows. These are good training cycles and are not very expensive. However, if this will be your first bike buy used and pay cash, get the experience of riding before moving up to bigger and more expensive bikes. I have had friends who bought big bikes like Goldwings and rode only a few times then selling them at a loss because they weren't ready for a big bike. Nothing wrong with starting small and working up to bigger later on. In fact the smaller bike will normally sell quicker when you are ready to move up, then use the money for your next bike.

I have an 87 HD Sportster. Need some wiring help.?
It might be a bit big for a beginner. You might want to stick to a little 250cc or so until you get the hang of it. Be VERY careful riding on the street as most drivers aren't paying attention (I've taken to pretending like they are actually TRYING to hit me - and it's usually not far from the truth).
Does anyone know how much a 1979 Yamaha TT 500 motorcycle is worth?
out of all the sportbikes ive rode. the most comfortable one is the r6What has more power and what goes faster?
OK, I'm not sure what kinda maker you want but if your looking for a street bike type thing i would start with a 600cc engine. If you think ur up to it after a year with the 600cc then move up to a 1000cc engine. as for mopeds your on your own.Why do some motorcycles(the faster ones) have digital speedometers and some don't?
First of all, what you need to do is attend a MSF course near you. There are classes given all of the time in most areas around the country. Once you have the class, you'll better understand what you like and what you don't like. What you want and what you need. For example. The idiot who answered you that you should get a bike with an electric start. Well, I don't think that they even make bikes any longer that don't have an electric start. Size of a bike sounds like an easy topic to nail down, however, I am 6'2" tall and weigh around 230. I had a Honda Shadow 750 (95-99) and rode the heck out of it. I enjoyed it for myself, but when I would take anyone with me, such as a girl to impress, it was a dog. I'd be driving on a highway, going 65-70mph, and doing fine, but when it was time to climb a hill, it would slow to 50-55mph, and cars would pass me and there was nothing to do but hope that the top of the hill arrived soon. I've since had a Harley sportster 883 and currently own a Harley street glide with the 96 cubic inch engine. Even with the 883, I was able to take my nephew for a ride, up and down hill on Route 15 in Pennsylvania, and when he asked how fast it would go, I accelerated to 90mph, before I said that was enough, although the bike wasn't screaming in pain. So, you need to go and actually sit on the different bikes that fit in your price range. Also, I have found that the street glide is much easier to manuver at slow speeds than the Sportster, due to the width of the tires and how balanced the bike is. So, don't just listen to what others tell you. Go to all of the dealerships, sit on the bikes, and see for youself, which are too high, which are too low, which are hard to balance, standing still (something that you'll be doing at each traffic light or stop sign) and the other things that you might like. Big mirrors, small mirrors, windshield, or no windshield. The choices are almost endless. Good riding. When is Yamaha launching Gladiator150 & Fazer250 Bikes in India?

you should buy one of those motorcyles from that movie grease 2 the motorcycles in that movie are soooooo coolIs there a pattern to make a motorcyle helmet cover? Tight fitting, like a skin.?
Take the Motorcycle Foundation Safety course. After that, you'll know what to do and what not to, right? You're big enough to ride just about any motorcycle, and too big for some, LOL.
Don't get a Police Special as your first motorcycle. They're made for people who are a little taller than you. LOL. If you absolutely must have one, sit on it and make sure you can touch the ground with both feet flat, and that the weight isn't going to bother you when you're at a stoplight.
For going 15 miles:
Don't get a single cylinder "dual sport." You may find the vibration will wear you out, even after 15 miles.
If you're going on the freeway, you'll need something that can still accelerate at freeway speeds. That rules out most motorcycles under 500 cc (don't get the Rebel 250).
How much is too many miles to have on a 125cc scooter?
You should probably not get a superbike first. Other than that -- hey, Honda Shadow looks good to me.
