Question:
Can anyone tell me where the fuel reserve is located on a virago? it's a 1989 bike if this helps.
Also do you know how much the reserve might hold?
Cheers!

Not sure about your date of bike, but mine was an electrical switch on the right side hand grip at the bottom.Mine was a '51 bike, with the dual tanks, I didn't get down to reserve too often, but I think it held about half a uk gallon.

What is the normal idle speed for a 1982 Yamaha 400 X(?) Special?
generall bikes have both on and reserve. the tap on left side of tank pointing down for on. the reserve pointing up and the middle position for off. always turn tap to off when say its parked overnight. though it dosent happen often you dont want to come out and try to start to find theres no petrol in the tank cause it was on all night and it drained out of the bottom of the carb cause the float was stuck. happened to me so i always turn it off. the virago fuel tank dosent hold a massive amount of juice so reserve is probably around a half gallon or thereabouts. hope this helps.Has anyone ever taken an ALASKA TRIP BY MOTORCYCLE?
My friend had one for a while and I can't remember his having a reserve tap (i probably would have turned his petrol off for a laugh if it did). If there is one its should be located under the edge of the tank (normally on the left)His used to do around 100miles to £10 @ around 90p/ltr
But he rode it like a nutter so I should imagine 120 should be a safe distance.
