Can a front master cylinder from a GSXR1000 fit a GSXR750?

The bike is a 97 and the master cylinder is from a 01 1000. It physically fits but I'm not sure if it will actually stop the bike

it will probably work and may be nearly identical. the important thing is the piston diameter. check it if you can. i have a 97 GSXR 750 and that year it had the big 3 pot caliper. then the newer gixxer 750s went to a 2 pot caliper and the 1000 got the 3 pot. there might be capacity, stroke and lever feel issues - but it will probably "stop the bike"./

Hi what you can do is find one on ebay and asked the person selling it will it fit your 97. If it fits it should have no problem stopping the bike make sure you bleed the system out before trying
