Yamaha YB100 speedo?

I have a 20 year old Yamaha YB100. The speedo stopped working last night. Anyone know what the possible reasons are? Is it still legal to ride on the road? and how do I fix it/replace it?

Check that the speed cable is OK. Normally the cables break where any stress point exists. On my XS the cable always broke off at the speedo gearbox.

Dun think the traffic police will be able to find out unless he's riding with u... however, it will be an offence if u r speeding or road hog! Best thing to do without the speedo is to follow the traffic flow.
