Why modern motorcycles have the front wheel taller than the rear one?

Question:

Answers:

Which helmet?

Generally you would see a lot of off road and dual purpose bikes have a larger front tire than the rear, this increases stability and steering, and the smaller tire in the rear increases torque,
Some of the larger Cruiser/Custom style street bikes are the same way, but a lot of it is for looks. A taller, but narrower front tire, with a smaller but much wider rear tire.
A lot of your High performance motorcycles will have both tires the same size, this increases stability and tracking at high speeds, most notably while cornering.
