Answers:
If you had to choose between the Bike and the Old Lady which would it be?
If the battery is good and it turns over with the plugs out, then bearings are O.K. ?If it has difficulty turning over with the plugs in ,that says a compression issue,,,,, stuck lifter or valve?
Remove your push rod covers and check to see if your push rods are traveling as they should.
Or back to the obvious, battery and connections?
New fuel and drain carb.
Did you change the gas? 4 month old gas may have a hard time burning.
What type of dirt bike should i get my kid??
After doing the gas and battery thing, replace your wet-fouled plugs and see if your getting good spark.First,,remove the battery, hook a battery charger to your battery,, then drain the gas out and replace it with fresh. after the battery is either charged (or replaced) and re-installed, crank the bike for a few seconds without tuning on the gas(this oils the cylinder walls and allows for maximum compression). Then turn on the gas and start the bike, being extremely carefull not to give it too much gas untill it is running for at least two minutes. A cold engine will flood in a heartbeat.
Pull your carb apart & clean the gum & varnish out.
