u will need it this taunt when on the road. wind blast at 65 mph is very strong. the jacket will also mold to u eventually on break-in.

Buy a true motorcycle leather not a fashion leather. Fashion leather is thin and won't stand up to a slide on the pavement. Look for a jacket that has vents to let heat out in the warmer days and also look for flex areas around the shoulders. Like the other rider said when you cross your arms in front the jacket shouldn't ride up much. these flex points help avoid that. I wear a biker leather jacket and a thick leather vest in the winter. the combo weighs between 35 and 45 lbs with the winter liner in the jacket. I love handing to people to hold especially non-bikers.Stay away from jackets with lapels or collars they get in the way or beat you death in the wind.
If you get chaps they should be snug and make sure it has the flap that covers the zipper on the side. Zippers heat up sliding on pavement and burn into your flesh.
