There is no true definition of a pit bike. Most bikes that are considered pitbikes are either just small dirt bikes, 150cc or less air cooled, or the custom pitbikes made by companies like Sikk, SDG, etc. When you get into the bigger sanctioned pit bike races the bikes must have a 10" or 12" rear wheel. Check out the following link for a good example of a custom pitbike.
