Contrary to the majority opinion. an '07 GSXR will EASILY do 140 MPH with the proper sprockets on it! Any of the "Big Four's" liter bikes will do so as well as Ducati, Aprillia, MV Augusta, etc. Todays liter bikes are gettin' 150+ horspower at the crank and pushin' less than 400lb. 140 in second is nothin' hard to obtain. A few teeth off the rear and or a couple added to the front and you should be there easy. A stock geared '06 Yamaha R1 does 106mph at the rev limiter in 1st gear!Can you fit a full Givi rack on a ZZR 600?

edit: bozmo2 must drive a pimped out honda civic. my f4i topped out at 148 indicated, the '07 gsxr 1000 has more than twice the horsepower. gsxr 1k tops out at around 184 mph stock.
It can stuck in second gear in the trunk of a Ferrari Testarosa maybe. I can think of nothing to my knowledge that can do 140 in second gear and have doubts the GSXR can hit much over 140 in top gear regardless

Maybe 120, but I doubt 140. It can hit 100mph in 1st gear, but the transmission on a sportbike is very tight and I doubt it could get another 40mph before hitting the rev limiter.How much horsepower would a fuel jet kit give an atv, ie. Yamaha 660R atv?
BTW, Bozmo has no clue how fast a sportbike can go. I took on some punk in his daddy's 2006 Mustang GT, and by the time my 599cc engine hit second gear he was a block behind me, crying into his Cheerios.

ok so here is my 2 cents worth i ride an 02 R1 and i pull my wheelies up at 65 MPH and can ride them out to 115 MPH my brothers have both the 05 zx 10 and 06 gsxr1000 the zx WILL DO 105MPH in first gear i have not personally ridden the gsxr1000 but would GLADLY bet my audi tt OR my 69 superbee that 140 or close enough would be accomplished on an 07 gixxer 1000. if you have not ridden a new 1000 of ANY brand you should think twice before answering IMO.
