BSA A65 clutch problem?

Question:
Does anyone know if there should be a ball bearing between the clutch release arm and the push rod. It looks like there should be one, but no detail in the haynes manual!!

Yes there is an indentation to take the ball bearing try a push bike shop they will have one to fit.
