If it's a bog, then it's gearing or carburetion (or other tuning issues).
1200cc engines what is the cost to rebuild parts and labor ?
If it's revving, but not going anywhere, it's the clutch.
I would check the gearing,is it standard? it sounds like it has been geared for top end performance.

i'm afraid it sounds like you may be the problem... these bikes have a wafer thin power band, high up in the rev range... they're great on a track but on the road is a different story. it's all or nothing . sounds like the engine is bogging down , you need to keep the revs high ... pulling away and changing gear. and you need a lot of gear changes to keep it on the boil.. watch the rev counter ... when you get that kick up the butt ... take note of the reading .thats where the engine starts to make it's peak power... thats where you need to keep it to get the most from it. as i say that can be difficult on the road...Can you wear rock boots as motorcycle boots?

High Maint bike with these two traits. as on any 2 strokes.More Questions & Answers ...
