Sometimes your flashers wont work properly if you switch to LED. You need a no-load flasher from Hotronics. Sometimes this is called a load equalizer also,
Then if the bike is REALLY old sometime the LED if dimmer, cause the design of the reflectors inside the lens dont's pick up the led light. most led's have a veiwing range of 11 degrees wide angle led's 33 degrees, and reg bulb is almost 300 degrees.
You just need to get some led's and try them on your bike to see if they work properly.
LED's are generally way better than reg bulbs.

Regular lights are incandescent which draw more current from the battery to light. LED are semiconductors which take much less power are are less prone to burn out because they have no filament. LED burn cooler and will last much longer than regular lights. When my regulars burn out I will replace them with LED lights.
