Can electric scooters (Boreem brand) be re-keyed?

Question:
I recently moved into a house where the former owner did not take much of their stuff with them. Now I have possession of a lot of junk, including a fairly new Boreem scooter, problem is, there is no key. It is electric and seems close to brand new, the owners manual was found with it. If anyone knows if it is possible to order a new key, or re key the scooter, please let me know. I live in Indianapolis, IN if that helps.

If you can get the lock off the bike any locksmith should be able to make a key for it...
sometimes they can cut a key from the numbers on the front of the lock...
