It totally depends on what year and what you are going to use it for. The CRF250x won Dirt Rider's bike of the year in 2004, but I'd take any newer bike over that. Unless you are Travis Pastrana then it really doesn't matter what bike you ride... the differences these days are pretty much trivial. Just test ride a couple and buy whatever one is most comfortable. That being said, I own two Yamahas so obviously I'm partial to those.

Well my grandson just finish motorcross school and his choice is Honda, as would be myown, however, your question is very open to personal choice as numerous manufactures have excellent bikes available, so I suggest you test ride and then decide which fits and feels RIGHT to you. Remember, TEST RIDE and see how each feels to you is the key.
