Just bough an Yamaha R6 need new tires, dont know what size?

Cos there's too much petrol in the float bowl, 'cos either:-
a) There's dirt between the needle and seat preventing the needle from closing.
or
b) The needle and seat are worn out, which is not probable as the bike is not old.
or
c) The float is sticking because the pivot is dirty.

Ive been told that gilera the Italian bike manufactures is going out of business is this true?

Pop the carb off and have a look-see. Take out the needle and seat. If there is no obvious sign of damage give it a good clean, make sure the float is free to swing and put it back together. Should be fine. If the seat is damaged fit a new neeedle and seat. The set is not going to break the bank - quite (it is a Honda).
By the way don't go looking for a fuel pump (I see girly brains is blond), there isn't one and just tapping it may free it up for now but it won't cure the problem and it will just stick again later.

Float is stuck. Try tapping lightly on the side of the carb, that might shake it loose.

If not, then perhaps the fuel pump is overactive. (If not gravity, that is).

What makes my headlight burn out and my turn signals not work on my 98 Harley XL 1200 Sportster?

The 2 most common reasons are sticky floats, or a plugged gas tank vent.
Less likely is the drain screw, but it's worth checking to be sure it's snug.

Can I rectify a squared off motocycle tyre?

The float is sticking, allowing too much gas into the carb. It's spring; did you not put stabilizer into a full tank and run it for 5-10mins. last fall? Live and learn.
Drop the bottom off the float bowl and work the float free. Blow it out with compressed air. Do you feel competent enough to tear down the carb and soak all the parts in carb cleaner? There are a lot of springs and weird little bits, so get it right. No leftovers. And replace old gaskets with new. Or take the carb to a shop.
The good news; your XR is simple and easy to maintain. The motor has existed since dirt was clean, so no sweat finding someone to help out. Great bike to tear-down and put back together.

Where I live there is an alternative hearse! For bikers - have you heard of this or something similar?

you need a reverse flush. air line is put in through the fuel line and the whole tank is flushed through the filler cap. CAUTION!!! only a professional with the disposable amenities can do this. you have dirt coagulating in your breather tubes, under your crank case you should see 3 tubes. the cloggiest is your carb breather tube , this is the one that needs blown.

Oil change?

float is stuck tap float bowl with screw driver if still same turn petrol off then remove carb drain screw its on the float bowl, fuel will run out tap side of carb put screw back in turn petrol on that should sort

No title!!?

The floats are stuck. YOu may be able to repair without carb removal by dropping the float bowl (3 or 4 philips head screws) and spraying with solvent while lifting floats gentley. Critical area to spray is around the 'needle and seat'; this is where the gas will be entering the float bowl (and leaking from). While you're in there, clean out all the crud in the bottom of the bowl, and clean the gas tank strainer.
