I have an international Drivig license from Jordan which allows me to drive cars but not motor bikes. Do i need to have a provisional license before i take the CBT?

everyone that is new to riding a motorbike in the uk has to get a CBT if the capacity is over 50 cc. and even then it is advised, if you have access to the net all you need to do is input your area and "CBT" or "compulsory basic training motorbikes" and you should come up with a list - failing that you could just search you local area and go into your nearest motorbike or scooter retailer, and they should let you know - often part of the deal of buying a scooter is a free CBT course. However over 125 cc you need to train for and obtain a full bike licence, which is a lot more expesive, and can be done at 2 levels - one that is less costly, but once you have passed you have to ride at a restricted level for 2 years or the more expensive direct access. both are regarded as minimum requrements too - everyone that has passed is urged to go onto advanced training lessonsharley_4f thanks for your answer?
are you staying in this country? if so, send your international license to DVLA and swop it for a British one. with this you can go to any motorcycle training and do your CBT. this is effective for 2 years, if you are over 21 years you can do what is known as direct access which allows you to ride full power machines after a 3 or 5 day course depending on how controlled you are. good luck ;-)More Questions & Answers ...
