Have you ridden one your self how much experience do you have, do you have motor bike on your license. Start with a 400 Honda rebel pass test on this one goes fast enough 70 mph. practice on it it will resell easy. then move up to a sporster 883-900 same thing. shocks are adjustable can be lowered to fit any one. I am a diehard hog owner and I would sugest you buy a 1200 sporster,if it's your first bike. If you are an experienced rider then you should go to your local dealer and sit a few rides to see what model fits you best.And remember it don't matter what your physical size is,but more so hows your balance,and do you feel comfortable with a larger bike.You might like a NIGHTTRAIN.If you love Harleys, then I suggest you totally ignore all of the "know-nothing," anti-Harley idiots who continually say things like, "it always breaks down" or "it leaks" and other crap like that. These clowns obviously know absolutely nothing about Harley, or the fact that they don't break down all the time and that their engines have been fluid-tight for more than ten years now.
Go with what you want and love. I strongly suggest you go down to your closest Harley dealer and sit on a few bikes. You'd be surprised at what will fit you.

I would NOT recommend a Sportster as a first bike, because they're a bit top-heavy which can be tough for a newbie to handle. Then again, I've known people who have bought them as "first bikes" and had no trouble, so again - it's up to you and what you can handle.

I love Harley's too, but I'm only 5'1" so I bought a Buell Blast. You can find them at most Harley dealerships. I can touch the ground flat footed and it has Harley parts. I also am looking into buying a Kawaki Vulcan 900, I sat on one the other day and could reach the floor flat footed and the handlebars were an easy reach too. It also felt well balanced so it wasn't a chore to hold it up. I am looking at that for more of a cruiser bike look, but I LOVE my Buell and if they would make other models shorter I would get another Buell.What motorcylce is best for beginners?
I think the Sportster is definately the bike for you, especially if you get a "Custom" which is lower. Also, Sporties are lighter than Dynas, Softtails, and Touring bikes.What should I know before buying a scooter?
