In my science class we were learning about electromagnets, and we were talking about maglevs. It interested me so much I wondered if I could go on one, so I researched it and stuff came up about monorails and I have been on the monorails at Disney World, so I was wondering if they were the same thing.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but no, they are different. The monorails at Disney are actually driven by wheels. As far as I know, there is a working maglev in Japan, it is used as an airport shuttle from downtown. And there is also one in Germany, but I think that it is just used for testing, I'm not sure if it is open to the public.Question for railroad workers/buffs: What companies make railroad equipment? you're comparing apples and oranges. some monorails are maglev, most maglevs are monorails.Why dont trains have cabooses?

No, Maglevs and Monorails are not the smae, although often the two are combined.Maglevs use magnets to get from one end of the track to the other, and monorails use wheels on a single track.
Maglevs are often on a single flat track though, so could be classed as monorails, and the sma egoes for monorails - often they are trains using maglev technology.
