Free India wants to remove all British influence and hence renamed Bombay to Mumbai and Calcutta to Kolkotta and so on and so forth.. But we are retaining what is convenient..
I want to know availability of berth of train?
For example: when British established Railways and had 1st class / 2nd class and free passes for employees it was to help themselves..and Indians travelled in 3rd class. When we became independent we did not abolish this culture! why??
All the AC class and First class passengers now became the rights of employees and their relatives / politicians and their affliates.. and that too they travel free... And most of the time these are not even full..

Free passes just come with the territory, and we dont have priveldge over the public, we have to book an available seat just like everyone else.

Well I don't agree with you completely...for example, when you work for an airline, you and your family get free tickets.. it's just one of the perks associated with the job... If your parents worked for Jet Airways, you'd be eligible for 2 or 3 free tickets per year and you wouldn't say no to that would you?
a railway employee gets tickets based on his status in the organization... the higher up he/she is, the better the coach and the higher the number of tickets available...
Most of the time they are not full? Where did you get that from? While tickets for a particular train are booked, a fixed number of seats are set aside for railway employees/vip quota. Now within a specified time of the departure of the train, if these seats have not been availed of, they will be released to people on the waiting list/RAC, so in effect the seats do not go to waste.
